Kittens and nursing mothers require additional protein and fat from highly digestible foods. As a true Chicken & Rice diet, ACANA KITTEN is formulated from a base of human-grade chicken ingredients (minimum 60%) and rice (minimum 30%) for a rich source of easily digested proteins that are necessary to support the nutrient needs of rapid development.

As an assurance of ingredient quality, purity and safety, ACANA diets are formulated with hormone-free chicken ingredients from government-inspected chickens that are fit for human consumption. As additional peace-of-mind for the pet owner, ACANA diets are wheat and gluten free and highly digestible thus providing for optimal nutrient assimilation and less litter box waste.

Although less expensive, foods that contain vegetable proteins and are high in dietary starch are not easily digested by kittens. All ACANA cat foods are low in starch (<23%), are formulated with a single-source starch ingredient (rice), and are completely free of wheat, corn and glutens - ingredients that are often at the source of feline dietary disorders.

As with children, kittens often chew what they shouldn't - including things that are not meant as food. To support the developing immune systems of kittens, ACANA has balanced omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids from flax, plus supplemental antioxidants that include lutein, selenium and Vitamin C.
