For healthy and correct weight loss, a diet must stimulate the use of fat reserves without reducing muscle tone. A premium high-protein, calorie controlled diet will support optimum muscle mass while stimulating the conversion of stored fat into bio-available energy.

While requiring fewer carbohydrates, overweight adult dogs still require abundant proteins to maintain and support muscle tone and mass. ACANA Adult Light has a superior ingredient base of human-grade chicken ingredients (>47%) - highly palatable and rich in easily digested proteins to support muscle mass without contributing to weight gain.

To stimulate fat and carbohydrate metabolism, L-carnitine supplement is active in fat metabolism. This natural supplement is an important contributor to ACANA's dietary weight management program.

A low starch diet, free of wheat and gluten ingredients is more easily digested and less likely to produce a dietary reaction or stomach upset. High-quality proteins from human-grade chicken ingredients (minimum 50%) are easily digested and support optimum muscle mass.

Adult light (weight control)

To achieve ideal body condition, overweight dogs require a specifically adapted diet rich in protein to support lean muscle mass, and reduced in carbohydrate and fat to control weight.

ACANA is rich in highly digestible proteins from human-grade chicken (50%) to support lean body mass, and has reduced fat with L-carnitine and chromium yeast supplements to aid fat metabolism in the body and manage weight.

Low in starch (27%) and wheat and gluten free, this ACANA diet features easily digested steamed oatmeal and botanical extracts from chicory and yeast (MOS, FOS) to nourish intestinal flora and advance digestive health.

Blended fish, chicken and flax oils supply essential fatty acids (including DHA and EPA) for cognitive and immune function and coat conditioning. Steamed fruits and vegetables are supplemented with organic minerals, and ocean-source glucosamine HCl and chondroitin sulfate support joint health.
