Small and miniature breed dogs are often active and playful, and require more energy than larger breeds. As small breed dogs are also prone to weight gain, a premium, high-protein, calorie-controlled diet is ideal to meet small breed energy needs while maintaining appropriate weight levels.

ACANA's low-starch diet - free of wheat and glutens - optimizes nutrient absorption while minimizing the risk of digestive upset or allergic reaction in sensitive small breed dogs.

Normally active small breed dogs require quality proteins for optimum conditioning. Each kibble of ACANA Adult Small Breed contains over 50% human-grade chicken ingredient by weight. For optimum food safety and nutritional value, all chicken ingredients used to formulate ACANA are from federally inspected chickens that are certified fit for human consumption.

Small breed dogs often have discerning palates and can be choosy when it comes to food. ACANA is highly concentrated in chicken ingredients with intense natural flavors that appeal to finicky dogs and encourage a vigorous appetite.

Adult Small Breed
ACANA - Puppy Small Breed

Small breed dogs differ from larger breeds, and are best fed a diet specifically adapted to meet their greater energy needs without contributing to excess weight.

To support lean body mass, this exceptional diet is enriched with quality proteins from highly digestible, human-grade chicken (50%). Body weight is managed with controlled dietary fat, and L-carnitine helps convert body fat into useable energy.

Low in carbohydrate (28%) and wheat, corn and gluten free, this ACANA diet features easily digested steamed oatmeal with botanical extracts from chicory and yeast (MOS, FOS) to nourish intestinal flora and promote digestive health.

A rich blend of fish, chicken and flaxseed oil supplies essential fatty acids (including DHA and EPA) to support cognitive and immune function, and luxurious coat conditioning. Steamed fruits and vegetables are supplemented with organic minerals to supply antioxidants in the healthiest way.

Feeding Guides

EXPECT TO FEED SUBSTANTIALLY LESS THAN WITH OTHER COMMERCIAL DOG FOODS AND, AFTER THE INITIAL TRANSITION, YOUR DOG WILL HAVE SMALL, WELL DIGESTED STOOLS WITHOUT ODOR. LIKE PEOPLE, EVERY PUPPY IS DIFFERENT AND FEEDING REQUIREMENTS CHANGE WITH SIZE, ENVIRONMENT, AGE AND ACTIVITY. FEED TWICE DAILY AND ADJUST RATIONS AS NEEDED. ALWAYS KEEP FRESH, CLEAN WATER AVAILABLE.
