Large Breed Puppies require a highly nutritious diet that is protein rich yet fat controlled. ACANA Puppy Large Breed has a superior ingredient base of human grade chicken (>47%) - ingredients that are highly palatable and rich in easily-digested real-meat proteins essential for the optimal growth and development of large breed puppies.

Vegetable proteins may be healthy for people, but they are not ideal foods for puppies. Vets, nutritionists and pet specialists agree that a low-starch food, free of wheat, corn and soy, can significantly reduce the risk of dietary upset and food allergies in puppies.

As large breed dogs are susceptible to bone and joint disorder, it is particularly important to ensure tissue and skeleton develop in harmony. In addition to controlling weight, ACANA Puppy Large Breed contains specifically balanced calcium and phosphorus, with natural source glucosamine and chondroitin to support strong, solid bones and healthy joints.

Like children, puppies often do what they shouldn't - including chewing and eating things that aren't meant as food. To help support and protect the developing immune systems of puppies, ACANA contains balanced omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids, as well as supplemental antioxidants that include lutein and Vitamin C.

The long and sensitive growth period of large breed puppies requires a specifically balanced diet that is rich in proteins to support muscle mass, low in carbohydrates to control growth, and specifically balanced for optimal skeletal development.

To support fat-free muscle mass, this exceptional diet is literally bursting with quality proteins from human-grade chicken (50%) ingredients, while carbohydrate (28%) and dietary fat are moderate and supplemented with L-carnitine to manage growth and weight.

Premium herring and flaxseed oils (human-grade) are rich in essential fatty acids (including DHA and EPA) to support cognitive and immune development, and nourish the skin and haircoat.

Steamed oatmeal and prebiotic supplements (MOS, FOS) nourish intestinal flora and support digestive health. Steamed fruits and vegetables are supplemented with organic minerals and botanical extracts to supply antioxidants in the healthiest way.

Feeding Guides

Expect to feed substantially less than with other commercial dog foods and after transition your large breed puppy will have well digested stools without odor. Keep food available at all times until puppies are fully weaned (six to eight weeks). After weaning, continue "free choice" or feed three times daily for 6 months and then twice daily from 7 to 24 months. Always keep fresh, clean water available.
